<p>Mahler’s Eighth Symphony is one of the composer’s most popular works: due to its novelty of form, ideological content, and quantitative composition (it is no coincidence that even before the premiere it was nicknamed “Symphony of a Thousand”), the Eighth Symphony has been studied many times — in the context of Mahler’s entire oeuvre and as an independent opus. This article offers an original perspective — to look at the specifics of the composer’s use of the organ as part of a symphony orchestra. And also, along the way, to clarify some interesting details of the premiere performance of this cult work in every sense. The author also considered it appropriate to compare the parts of the organ and harmonium and find an explanation for the inclusion of these instruments in the score.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Восьмая симфония</kwd><kwd>Густав Малер</kwd><kwd>орган</kwd><kwd>фисгармония</kwd><kwd>Volle Werk</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Eighth Symphony</kwd><kwd>Gustav Mahler</kwd><kwd>organ</kwd><kwd>harmonium</kwd><kwd>Volle Werk</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">Густав Малер.
