<p>This article continues a series of essays exploring the new timbre combination of choir and domra in contemporary Russian compositional practice. The central focus is on Artem Ananyev’s Triptych for the stage play “Allegories” written for academic choir and domra. It is the first work by this ensemble to emerge from the transformation of theatrical music into an independent concert cycle. For the first time in Russian musicology, a systematic analysis of this work is undertaken: it examines the dramaturgical, genre, and timbre decisions shaped by both the specifics of the performing ensemble and the transition of the material from a stage context to a concert format. Previously unpublished statements by composer Artem Ananyev are introduced into scholarly discourse, revealing the composer’s intention and conceptual framework for the work. A comparative perspective is provided by works by A. Tchaikovsky, E. Podgaits, and K. Bodrov for the same performing cast, revealing common patterns and individual characteristics of composers’ approaches to this timbre combination and demonstrating the emergence of a new genre at the intersection of folk and academic traditions. The study relies on a comprehensive analytical method, combining intonational, genre, and dramaturgical analysis of the musical material. Elements of a hermeneutic approach are employed in examining the programmatic and visual sources of “Triptych”— paintings from the 14th to 20th centuries. The source basis is comprised of the full score of “Triptych” and the interview with composer Artem Ananyev, conducted by the author specifically for this publication.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>домра</kwd><kwd>хор</kwd><kwd>хоровая фактура</kwd><kwd>музыкальный театр Артема Ананьева</kwd><kwd>Александр Чайковский</kwd><kwd>Кузьма Бодров</kwd><kwd>Ефрем Подгайц</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>choir</kwd><kwd>domra</kwd><kwd>choral texture</kwd><kwd>musical theater of Artyom Ananyev</kwd><kwd>Alexander Tchaikovsky</kwd><kwd>Kuzma Bodrov</kwd><kwd>Efrem Podgaits</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">Комаров А. С. 2023. № 4 (9).
