<p>The article examines the work by the Austrian composer Georg Friedrich Haas “AUS.WEG” (2010) for eight instruments. This work, which has not yet been the object of attention of researchers, occupies an important place in the composer’s work: it poses a key problem for him: the relationship between the rational and the intuitive in the compositional process. A detailed analysis of various aspects of “AUS.WEG”, such as the title, which contains many possible interpretations, the form with an almost narrative development of some instrumental parts, a completely atypical treatment of compositional techniques, which are rethought and become a kind of heroes of the story, allows us to come to the conclusion that in his opus Haas goes the way from the rational to the intuitive. Much attention in the article is paid to Haas’s work with microtones, rhythm and form, as well as the problem of influences on his work from such composers as Giacinto Scelsi and Steve Reich.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Георг Фридрих Хаас,</kwd><kwd>AUS.WEG</kwd><kwd>музыка XXI века</kwd><kwd>техники композиции</kwd><kwd>микротоны</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Georg Friedrich Haas</kwd><kwd>AUS.WEG</kwd><kwd>contemporary music</kwd><kwd>composition techniques</kwd><kwd>microtones</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">Haas G. F.
