<p>The focus of this article is on the history of opera art dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War. The article presents a panorama of works created in 1941–1945 and in the post-war period. Among the operas under consideration are “On Fire” and “The Family of Taras” by D. B. Kabalevsky, “July Resurrection” by V. I. Rubin, “Passenger” by M. S. Weinberg, “The Diary of Anne Frank” by G. S. Frida, “The Unknown Soldier” and “The Dawns here are Quiet” by K.V. Molchanov, “Love at War” by A.V. Tchaikovsky, “The Dawns here are Quiet” by Tang Jianping. Based on the study of opera scores and the history of productions, the authors conclude that the experience of opera creation during the war years was extremely difficult due to economic difficulties and personnel problems (many musicians went to the front, many were involved in the work of concert propaganda teams). The shortage of specialists in the technical equipment of the performances also became a serious obstacle. In the post-war period, the scale of artistic research on issues increased, the range of images expanded, the expression of the lyrical principle deepened, new artistic techniques were introduced into the opera language, including under the influence of the active development of the theme of war in cinematography. The 21st century opens up new resources of the opera genre in addressing the history of the Great Patriotic War. The anniversary celebrations of the Victory were particularly significant milestones. The creation of the opera “The Dawns Here are Quiet” by the Chinese composer Tang Jianping, which was staged in the year of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in Beijing, St. Petersburg, and Moscow, became characteristic. In this opera, which continues to reflect on the feat of the Russian people in the fight against fascist aggression, the theme of the Great Patriotic War has acquired an important meta-national symbolic significance.</p>
В. Молчанов</kwd><kwd>Д. Б. Кабалевский</kwd><kwd>А. В. Чайковский</kwd><kwd>Тан Цзяньпин</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>The Great Patriotic War</kwd><kwd>opera</kwd><kwd>“The Dawns here are Quiet”</kwd><kwd>K.V.
